DIY CONCERT TICKET SCAVENGER HUNT
The backstory: Preston and I recently celebrated our 3 year dating anniversary on September 20th. In addition, he turned 24 on September 25th! A few months prior to these dates, I purchased concert tickets for us to go see Drake in Atlanta, GA. Preston loves Drake and I knew he would be so excited about this gift! I kept the tickets a secret until our anniversary/his birthday finally came around- Which was VERY challenging for me since I’m such a loud mouth! I didn’t want to simply hand over the tickets after keeping the secret for so long- So I got the idea to put together a scavenger hunt around my apartment that would lead him to finding out about the tickets. Last night I finally finished editing the video (I recorded the entire scavenger hunt) and had time to put together this blog post for you guys. I thought this would be a fun D.I.Y idea to share on here and I hope it inspires you to get creative! I love surprising him and I know by doing things like this, I’m keeping our relationship interesting and exciting! Enjoy!!
(Above) I hid 5 envelopes containing clues around my apartment.
I made sure not to have any of them out in the open.
(Above) I tried to make each clue rhyme and also relate back to our relationship.
(Above) For the final clue I used FACEinHOLE to Photoshop a picture of “Preston” hanging out with Drake! I placed this photo inside of a picture frame along with the correlating clue.
(Above) I wrapped the picture frame and put it inside of a wrapped box, which was inside of another wrapped box.
(Above & below) After Preston received the final clue and guessed where I was taking him, I handed over the concert tickets. I was sure to map out exactly where we’re sitting, since we have such great seats!!
This was so much fun!! It took a little more work than a normal gift would, but it was by far worth the extra efforts. The scavenger hunt really helped build up the anticipation of the gift and he was SO excited. His reaction to the surprise was priceless and I enjoyed every second of it. I also love the idea of giving an “experience” as a gift instead of a material item. That way it’s something you can both enjoy together and a chance to make new memories. I hope you enjoyed this post and be sure to watch the video for his reaction!
