TANNING DROPS: APPLICATION TIPS + HOW-TO!

Ever since I started using and sharing the Isle of Paradise tan drops on Instagram, I have received so many messages about them! Since I’m sure even more of you have questions than those of you actually reaching out, I thought it would be helpful to create a post on how I apply the drops and answer a few other questions. Before we get started, the products I’m referring to in this post are THIS LOTION and THESE DROPS.

There are so many reasons why I love and recommend these tan drops. First of all, most tanning products I’ve tried in the past smell bad and rub off on your clothes or sheets. With these drops, that's not the case. They don’t give off an odor at all and you can mix them with any lotion that you use regularly (even scented)! I slept overnight with these drops and it left zero residue on my clothes and sheets, which is actually AMAZING + usually never happens. The tan also goes on very evenly without streaks or discoloration. Another reason I love these drops is because you get to decide exactly how tan you want to be. The more drops you decide to use/apply, the more tan you will get. You also don’t have to wear a mit while applying this product, which is a bonus in my opinion. After application, you simply wash your hands and you’re good to go! I truly think these drops give you such a great, natural looking and glowy tan! Not to mention these drops are also good for sensitive skin, being that they are sulfate/paraben free. I’ve received so many questions from you guys asking if this product is worth it and my answer is 100% YES!!

Now I’m going to explain exactly how I apply the drops and why I decided to mix my drops with a tanning lotion. The application process is fairly easy and straightforward. I use the “dark” color of these drops but they also come in two other shades (light and medium). Prior to application, I make sure my skin is clean and exfoliated. This isn’t required, but in my opinion only makes the tan look better and last longer. In the palm of your hand mix the drops with any lotion of your choosing. I decided to mix mine with one of my favorite tanning lotions to date, the Coola Sunless Tan Firming Lotion. The first time I used the drops, I mixed them with a regular unscented lotion and still had great results. Although, I naturally have a darker skin tone and tanning products usually don’t change my skin color very drastically. The second time I applied these drops I decided to mix them with the tanning lotion for enhanced results. I loved how the tan turned out the second go-around even more than the first!

As for the number of drops to use, I recommend using less drops for smaller areas of your body, such as the neck or chest area for example. I used around 5-6 drops for these smaller areas and around 10-11 drops for the larger parts of my body. I would say use anywhere from 3-11 drops depending on exactly how tan you want to be. Remember, the more drops you use, the more tan you will get! These drops are also safe to apply to your face, which is amazing. Be sure to apply the lotion/drops evenly on your skin and be extra careful around your palms and ankles. When you’re finished applying, simply wash your hands and you should be good to go! The tan should last you a couple of days if you continue to keep your skin hydrated!
