I'm extremely excited to share my very first travel guide, which hopefully will be the first of many. What better place to kick off this new series than at Rosemary, Beach! My family and I ventured over to Rosemary this past weekend to celebrate Easter and it couldn't have been more perfect. I'm going to share with you where we stayed, where we ate and what we did during our trip! Rosemary is seriously a dream!
WHERE TO STAY:
During our trip to Rosemary we chose to stay at The Pearl hotel. We had heard great things about this hotel and it didn't fall short of our high expectations. Upon entering the hotel for check-in we were immediately greeted by the friendly staff with glasses of champagne (OK- Give me a glass of bubbly after a 5 hour car ride and lets be real, I'm sold)! There happened to be a minor mix-up with one of our hotel room views which we were a little bummed about, but the hotel gave us certificates to use at their Havana Beach restaurant to rectify the mistake. The room was overall very nicely decorated and spacious, but could use a few minor updates. There was a TV screen built into the bathroom vanity mirror, which I really thought was a really unique touch. The hotel is placed in a very central location, you just can't beat it. It's surrounded by so many delicious restaurants, cute shops and is a very short walk from the beach. The Pearl itself offers many amenities that we enjoyed during our trip including a pool, Jacuzzi, restaurant, spa, rooftop bar and terrace. The hotel gives their guests two complimentary beach chairs/towels per-room and has an excellent beach and pool staff that were always checking on us and offering to fetch us drinks. Being that I have a major sweet tooth, one of my favorite perks had to be the desserts they left in our room during the turn down service. That was such a sweet surprise to come home to each night!
WHERE TO EAT + DRINK:
Restaurant Paradis: Truly no words! This restaurant was on the more expensive side but was worth every penny. I highly recommend both the snapper and the filet. They also offer various chef specialties each night that are hard to pass up. But you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu, this meal was incredible!! You need to try Paradis, even if only for dessert!
La Crema: One of my all time favorites in Rosemary. The best place to go for tapas (small plates) and chocolate. My favorite thing to eat here would have to be the seafood paella. La Crema is known for their chocolate and you can't leave without trying their fondue. We got the dark chocolate and peanut butter... Still dreaming about this meal!!
Cowgirl Kitchen: We had Cowgirl Kitchen for lunch after a long day on the beach. We got the queso to start and let me tell you, NOTHING is better than Mexican food after beachin'. Cowgirl kitchen is super low key and laid back. They offer amazing Southwestern-style cuisine. This is the perfect spot for a quick bite to eat!
Southside Slice Pizzeria: We ran here to pick up a pizza for dinner during our last night in Rosemary. The pizza was great and the atmosphere was super fun. We also saw many people walking to the beach with boxes of pizza during our trip. I thought this was a great idea for a beach snack and they even have 'beach friendly' beer cans you can take to-go!
The Sugar Shak: The perfect place to satisfy your sweet tooth. My ideal day consists of grabbing an ice-cream cone from Sugar Shak and walking around the charming town of Rosemary, looking at all the gorgeous houses and checking out the great shops!
Havana Beach Bar & Grill: This restaurant is located inside The Pearl Hotel and is super convenient for hotel guests. We ate here multiple times during our stay and were never once disappointed with the food. If you go here for brunch don't pass up the mimosa or bloody mary bar. I also highly recommend trying the French toast, it was super tasty!!
WHAT TO DO:
There is so much to do in Rosemary that it's almost impossible to fit it all into one weekend, but we tried our best! We began our trip with a bike ride around the town while waiting on our dinner reservation. The Pearl gives their guests complimentary bikes to borrow at any time during their stay, which I definitely took advantage of. Bike riding is basically a way of life on 30A and seems to be everybody's preferred form of transportation. It's the quickest (and most fun) way to get around and the best way to sight see in my opinion. There are so many hidden neighborhoods nestled around the town center with the most amazing architecture that are worth seeing. During our bike ride we even stumbled upon an outdoor amphitheater where a band was playing live music! Aside from eating and shopping, we obviously spent most of our trip enjoying the beach. With the soft white sand and emerald colored ocean, you really can't beat the beauty of Florida's beaches. When we weren't bumming on the beach, you could find us laying out by the pool at The Pearl, sipping on a frozen Rosé. The pool terrace has fire pits, plays great music and offers a really fun atmosphere at night. The Pearl also has a small spa that is located out back by the pool. During the trip, I enjoyed a facial and massage package, which was by far the best way to end the trip. I highly recommend taking a trip to Rosemary if you're looking to enjoy a beautiful, luxurious and relaxing beach weekend.
