(Left) Dancer | Divine Wine | Mauve Squad | Sell Out (Right)
...
Let me begin by explaining the inspiration behind this post. First of all, I purchase new lip colors like it's nobodies business. This is because even on days that I don't really feel like putting on a full face of makeup, I find throwing on a good lipstick can truly make all the difference. It really is amazing what a good lip color can do for you, even when wearing the bare minimum in terms of face makeup. As I was sorting through my large collection of lip sticks and glosses, I came across a few colors that I have found myself wearing a lot lately. I narrowed them down to four and decided that it may be helpful to share these with you guys!
Pictured above are swatches of my four favorite shades this season from left to right. On the left is 'Dancer', my favorite holiday shade by Kylie Cosmetics. This deep pigmented purplish/red is such an amazing color, especially for holiday parties. This shade truly brings the 'WOW' factor and is sure to be a crowd favorite. Next is a shade called 'Divine Wine' by L'Oreal- My favorite part about this lipstick is that it is so AFFORDABLE! You will likely find this rich and hydrating red lipstick available for purchase at your local Target or drugstore. Next is 'Mauve Squad' by Smashbox- I'm going to be real with you, this color has been my go-to almost every day this Holiday season. I usually use this as a gloss on top of another lipstick because it adds the prettiest shine to the base layer since it is also so pigmented. **In the photos above I am actually wearing Divine Wine with Mauve Squad on top!** Lastly, the color on the right is 'Sell Out' by Too Faced.. Oh my gosh let me just tell you, Too Faced Melted Matte lipsticks are my LIFE!! Seriously. I don't know what it is about matte lipsticks that make them so stunning, but if anything I love the fact that they are extremely long lasting. My other favorite is called 'Child Star' which is the prettiest nude matte color that I wear all the time, also by Too Faced!
(Special thanks to my beautiful sister Mary Ellis for doing my makeup for this post!)
