I was recently presented with the most incredible opportunity to travel to the Bahamas via private jet with the team at Southern Sky Aviation. It was truly a one-of-a-kind, once in a lifetime experience that I’ll never forget. Today I wanted to share a quick recap of our time in the islands.
THE ITINERARY:
DAY ONE:
We started the day at the Southern Sky Hangar, boarded the plane and then took off to the Bahamas. The luxury private aviation experience with Southern Sky is unlike any other. All of their flights are built + tailored specifically to their clients and you could just tell they put in so much detail to provide the best possible experience. Not having to go through security, having immediate access and seeing how safe the Southern Sky crew made everything was a game changer. It’s by far the most convenient and luxurious way to fly!
Once we got closer to The Bahamas the water started to turn crystal blue and was so beautiful. We landed at Chub Cay, an island in the Bahamas that you can only reach via private airport. Chub Cay is on the southernmost tip of Berry Island in the Bahamas and includes a marina, restaurant and bar and a pool. We were given a large private home for the duration of the trip with a gorgeous water view. The Southern Sky team truly outdid themselves with our accomodations. After getting all settled in we went fishing and I caught my first yellowfin tuna and yellowtail snapper (it was so much fun)! We went back to our house after that and got ready for dinner. Our first night there we had a private chef come cook the fish we caught for our dinner. Everything was so delicious and FRESH - Plus we paired the meal with some of my very favorite wines. It was truly a day to remember!!
DAY TWO:
Photoshoot day! We explored the island and the beautiful resort with Katie from Be Light Photography and shot around the property. That night we had the private chef come cook for us again - Round two was just as good!!
DAY THREE:
On our last day in The Bahamas we woke up early and grabbed breakfast from the Chub Cay restaurant and took it to-go on the boat. We went snorkeling in the shallow waters and it was so beautiful - We got to see all kids of sea life. After that we came back to the house and packed up to leave Chub Cay. We took our Covid tests and then departed via Southern Sky to a nearby neighboring island in the Bahamas called Governor's Harbour. We ate lunch at 1648 and I had the fresh catch of the day and a few piña coladas of course (I mean, we are on a tropical vacation right?!) We then flew back into Birmingham and that's a wrap!
