Travel guide time! Last week I took a trip down to Florida for the week of July 4th! This time we stayed in the amazing little beach town of Alys. If you've been following along then you know that last April I wrote a travel guide all about where to stay, where to eat/drink and what to do in Rosemary Beach, Florida. WELL, I'm excited to share yet another 30A travel guide with y'all for Alys this time around! Each beach town on 30A is so unique and special. Because of that, I think they each deserve their own guide! With that being said, let's get started!
First I'll be showing you the photos I took while on the trip, so scroll down to the very bottom for the full recap!

WHERE TO STAY:
During our trip to Alys we stayed in the most stunning rental home. You can check it out here! The coolest part about our place was that it was actually featured in Southern Home Magazine's March 2018 issue! The interiors and basically everything about the house was incredible. It was located in the perfect spot, right in the the center of town. All the hottest spots and neighboring beach towns were just a short walk or bike ride away. I highly recommend staying here if you ever visit Alys.
WHERE TO EAT/DRINK:
We actually ventured out of Alys to eat most nights but like I said, everywhere on 30A is so close that you can basically hop on a bike and be there within minutes. I had never been to any of the restaurants we tried out during this trip, so I'm excited to share completely new and amazing recommendations with y'all!
Bud and Alley's - Located in Seaside! You can eat out on the terrace while enjoying amazing sea views! The food here was delicious. The laid back and relaxed atmosphere was a nice change on our last night of the trip. The bar here is also super fun at night!
George's - My favorite part about George's is that they use only the freshest locally sourced ingredients in their dishes. You can definitely taste the difference. The food here was fabulous and definitely lived up to all the hype. You have to order the crispy calamari fries and the lobster quesadilla to start - YUM!
Big Bad Breakfast - I've actually been to the Mississippi location before, but it had been so long! I was so excited to try out this location and it did not disappoint. My favorite thing to get here is the Big Bad Skillet. But be warned, the portions are huge and made for sharing!
Charlie's Donut Truck - This donut truck was steps and I mean STEPS away from our rental home. We finally decided to give in and go grab a box on the last morning of the trip. They have so many unique and flavorful donuts. My favorite was probably the blueberry or the cinnamon twist. **Insider tip: They open at 6:30am - GO EARLY!! They usually sell out within 2 hours of opening.
Fonville Press - The most quaint little coffee and breakfast spot in Alys beach. We rode our bikes here almost every morning to grab an iced latte. Such a cute spot and I love the fact that they are so environmentally friendly! They also have delicious breakfast food.
Cafe Thirty-A - One of the most famous places to eat on 30A, so naturally we had to check it out. The service here was outstanding, but not as good as the food ;)! I got the lobster and it was cooked to perfection. A really fun spot worth checking out.
WHAT TO DO:
This was such a laid back trip and we really had nothing planned, which is honestly what made it so perfect. When you rent a place at Alys, you get full access to the pool and a private beach spot. During our trip you could find us enjoying these amenities. Our rental house was right next door to the pool, Caliza, which had cabanas and a fun bar. At night we usually went out to dinner and then came back to our house and played card games. On the 4th of July there was a band and a firework watching party in the town center. We were so glad we went early in the morning to set up our chairs and reserve our spot. The field filled up pretty quickly, but we had the perfect spot for the big show! We danced, sung, watched the fireworks - I couldn't have asked for a more perfect and relaxing 4th of July holiday. Be sure to check out Alys beach if you ever find yourself in the area.
