Hey guys! I'm getting ready to head down to the beach today to celebrate the July 4th holiday! I snapped a few photos yesterday while I was packing for the trip and I thought it might be helpful to share my packing "process" with you! I know everyone has there own method when packing, but here is what I've found works well for me!
1. MAKE A LIST
I am always more organized when I go in with a plan (I'm such a planner)! I like to shop for trips in advance so that I'm not scrambling last minute trying to decide what to pack. Over time, as I decide what I want to bring, I add the items to a checklist. The categories of the checklist are based upon your specific destination and usually vary. When the time comes to finally pack for the trip, I revert back to my checklist. This list helps me avoid forgetting anything!
2. PLAN OUTFITS + TAKE PICTURES
I find it helpful to piece my outfits together ahead of time. I try them all on and take photos of each outfit in the mirror. Then, I create a folder in my photos specifically for my vacation and save all the photos in there. This makes things so much easier when I get to my destination. It not only simplifies the process of "getting ready" and deciding what to wear, but also forces me to think things through when packing.
3. STAY ORGANIZED + STRATEGIC:
When flying, I find it helpful to use packing cubes. These save tons of space in your luggage and help keep everything organized. When I'm driving, I don't worry as much about trying to fit everything into one bag. One thing I have found, is that rolling your clothes saves tons of space! Traveling with hats is tricky because they do take up a good bit of space. To save room, I usually stuff socks or other small items into the head part of the hat. My best advice is to stay organized and strategic when packing your bags. Group similar items together to avoid having to dig around in your luggage to find things!
