I recently visited Savannah, Georgia for the very first time and it was truly one of my favorite getaways! If you’re planning a trip to Savannah, I highly recommend staying at either the JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District or any of the other Kessler Collection hotels in the area! The amazing main lobby of the hotel, also known as The Generator Hall, consists of restaurants, shops, galleries and even a life-size, chrome-dipped dinosaur. I truly could have spent hours in the lobby alone exploring and experiencing all that it has to offer… It was completely stunning! In addition, the hotel also has a spa and a fitness center which is a must for me when I’m traveling.
The JW Marriott Plant Riverside is made up of three different buildings. Each are unique in their own way and provide a luxurious feel. All are enriched in history, from chic architecture in the Power Plant, to romantic styling in the Three Muses and, the new contemporary maritime details in the Atlantic. My favorite part is that each building offers stunning views that overlook the river. There are truly no details spared when it comes to the Kessler Collection hotels. It’s also worth noting that this hotel is both kid and pet friendly!
During my visit, I had the opportunity to stay in the brand new Atlantic building, which was designed with an aquatic theme in mind. The Atlantic building has an amazing rooftop pool + bar that I took advantage of, and a concert hall where great bands are booked to play live music throughout the year!
In my opinion, the best part about staying at the JW Marriott Plant Riverside is that the property consists of 14 different restaurants - So basically you never have to leave the area! You can also charge everything to your room, which is very convenient. You can find the full list of restaurants on the property HERE.
In addition to the amazing food scene, there are also numerous rooftop bars around the property with stunning river views. I also enjoyed my short walk along the river to get coffee each morning, such a peaceful way to start the day off. If you did decide to venture out on the town, the JW is centrally located making it easy to walk anywhere and everywhere you would want to go! I never had to drive or uber anywhere during my visit, everything was only a short walk away.
Another really cool thing to note is that the JW Marriott Plant Riverside has year-round events. You can check out the Events Calendar here for all the happenings - There are always amazing shows and entertainment happening at the JW! They even have live performers and live music on the streets almost every night. There’s always something exciting going on in this lively entertainment district with fun for everyone!
To sum it up, if you’re looking for your next getaway, JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District is the ultimate destination! This was hands down one of the best experiences I’ve had and I highly recommend visiting this property.
